I like doing portraits that says something about you. I like depth, some emotion, some feeling and a bit of background that tells a story.
I really don’t like quick, fast moving, who are you again?, sessions. I prefer to take my time.
Perhaps you’re an artist who wants to show off some work. A business owner showing off their facilities. You may have a hobby you are passionate about. A close knit family to showcase. A favourite location. You want to show off something you do. You have an idea you’ve always wanted to try out.
But you don’t want a camera phone image. Or an inexpensive quick, hurry up we’ve only got 20 minutes for the shoot and by the way, here are the digital negatives, bye and good luck!
Maybe you just want something that makes you look a bit better, that you can’t do yourself or the person that you presently use just doesn’t seem to have that level of understanding, or you want a private session without anyone around. Perhaps you just want to try a photo session with a someone new for a different look and style.
Personally, I don’t like boring photo sessions, I prefer to make each session memorable and a bit of fun. I try to make everyone as comfortably at ease as possible as I am interested in getting the best images, that in my mind, will look great when processed. But, I do warn you, I sometimes have really a bad sense of humour.
Don’t worry about “posing”. I use natural movements and suggest where to put your arms, legs, etc. Static posing, I think, went out in the 1800s with large film cameras and I use today’s small, fast digital cameras.
I shoot on location or we can rent a studio or other space as required. I have had sessions just about everywhere so feel free to ask or suggest spots.
